Round, 7 \u2013 9 lobed leaves, covered with trichomes, grow from long petioles. Their margins are toothed. The upper leaves are on a short petiole, hairy and arranged in whorls. The small, greenish-yellow flowers are grouped in inflorescences. The method of harvesting is carried out by hand, or with the help of gardening shears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drying:<\/strong>&nbsp;Dry the sage and leaves naturally in the shade, in thin layers, in a ventilated room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Active substances:<\/strong>&nbsp;Lady\u2019s mantel is classified as a tannic drug, with the hydrolysable type of tannins predominating. These substances may account for up to 8 % of the dry weight of the drug. Another therapeutically important group of metabolites are flavonoids, to which anti-inflammatory effects are attributed. In Lady\u2019s mantel are found gentian, minute amounts of salicylic acid, traces of essential oils and simple organic acids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Uses:<\/strong>&nbsp;The plant is known in folk medicine as a remedy for the treatment of &#8222;female ailments&#8220;. It is used for painful menstruation, but also for problems related to menopause.
