Drug<\/strong>: Calendulae flos<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harvesting method:<\/strong> The flowers are harvested from June to October. Flowers without calyx (tongue-shaped petals) and flowers with calyx without pedicels are harvested at the time of full bloom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drying:<\/strong> The flowers are dried naturally in thin layers, in a dark and airy room. Artificially in a drying room, where the temperature must not exceed 40 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active substances:<\/strong> Calendula flowers contain triterpene compounds such as faradiol or glycosides of oleanolic acid. The essential oils contained in the drug are based on cadinol and toreyol. Yellow and yellow-orange pigments such as carotenoids, flavonoids and xanthophylls are contained in high amounts. Important metabolites include hydroxycoumarins and polyins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uses<\/strong>: This drug is traditionally known for its anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic properties, which predestine it for use in the therapy of minor lacerations, swellings, bruises, burns or frostbite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traditional method of use in indications determined solely on the basis of long-term use:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– promoting healing of minor superficial wounds and symptomatic treatment of minor skin inflammations, including sunburn,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– symptomatic treatment of inflammation of the oral cavity and throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
